Local food of Indonesia Archipelago

In 2021, upon completion of all activities in the GEF SGP program, there are a lot of visual documentation, especially photos, which become a part of knowledge management during 2017–2020. These thousands of photo documentation has initiated an idea to make a book about traditional knowledge and local food.

In spite of thousands of photos, there were limitations in compiling narratives. To this end, despite the limited time, Visual Literacy is encouraged itself to accept the challenge from GEF SGP to make two photo books. One book contains local knowledge and another book on local food, found in four locations of the GEF SGP Indonesia phase 6 program. Namely, Semau Island (East Nusa Tenggara), Wakatobi (Southeast Sulawesi), Nusa Penida (Bali), as well as Gorontalo Regency and Boalemo (Gorontalo).

This book is intended to trigger attraction to the younger generation, as well as to bring back memories of previous generations on the Archipelago wealth. The incompleteness of this book could hopefully generate further ideas for conducting research throughout Indonesia, regarding local food and traditional knowledge of the community.
